Fireworks Celebration July 3rd Rain Date July 5th
July 3, 2020 @ 8:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Greater Honesdale Partnership’s
Fireworks Show Revived by
Adams Hardscape and Excavation
Honesdale’s Independence Day Fireworks are a local tradition everyone enjoys. COVID-19 attempted to halt this year’s celebration in Central Park, but local small business owners Jean and Adam Barziloski have offered the perfect spot to hold a drive-in firework show.
Adam’s Hardscape and Excavation located at 703 Old Willow Avenue, Honesdale PA 18431 is a ten-acre lot with a mountain top view. It is the perfect place to honor Independence Day with Fireworks shot high above the area.
The “Drive-In “event will take place on Friday, July 3rd, 2020 with a rain-date of Sunday, July 5th. You can safely watch the show while parked in Home Depot, Walmart, and Baer Harley Davidson parking lots. We are not permitted to park in any other area. Please be aware not all parking lots follow the same rules and guidelines. All trash must be taken with you.
Bold Gold’s DNH 95.3 FM will be playing synchronized patriotic music set to the fireworks. Fireworks are set to go off approximately at 9:00 pm. Parking will not be available until after 8:00 pm.
“This would have been another tradition our community would have lost due to COVID-19. I was so thankful when Jean called to ask if it was possible to have the fireworks moved to their location”, stated Lisa Burns, Executive Director, Greater Honesdale Partnership.
Please join GHP in honoring Wayne County’s Yellow Phase by remaining in your car.
Remember masks and social distancing are mandatory even in the green phase. Look for updates on Greater Honesdale Partnership and Adams Hardscape & Excavation website and Facebook page as Wayne County enters the Green Phase.
Typically, a letter requesting donations from local businesses and residents gets mailed in early April. We feel it is inappropriate to send those letters in the current financial climate however, if you are able to send a donation it is greatly appreciated as the fireworks usually cost approximately twelve thousand dollars ($12,000.). Mail donations to: Greater Honesdale Partnership 32 Commercial Street Suite 3, Honesdale, PA 18431 Make checks payable to Greater Honesdale Partnership. Add fireworks to the memo.
Currently, the GHP is a sponsor of the Fireworks along with a very generous anonymous donor. Adam’s Hardscape and Excavation kindly offered to kick off t-shirts sales to raise the remaining funds and is hosting the event. Jean and Adam Barziloski stated, “We want to bring back some sort of normalcy in a safe way within our community and fireworks on Independence Day is the way to do it”. Information on purchasing t-shirts can be found on the Greater Honesdale Partnership and Adams Hardscape and Excavation Facebook page or Platform Industries website. GHP cannot thank them enough for thinking outside the box, or in this case, the park.
GHP’s Presidential Sponsors include the Dime Bank, Honesdale National Bank, and Wayne Bank.
